"Why didn't you leave?"

We supported 10,000 survivors of sexual and gender based violence during the COVID-19 pandemic through our helpline. Our survivors were often young women, queer and trans folks who did not have access to or control over money. Many were survivors who faced abuse at home or work and could not leave because of this reason. Even when they did try to leave, they were often forced to return because of lack of resources to survive. A world where survivors of violence are forced to stay in abusive situations because they do not have money is not a world we want to live in or are willing to accept. To ensure survivors have a pathway to lifelong financial independence, we need your help. 

We have designed an 11-month part-time Healing and Livelihood Program for women and queer survivors to ensure their pathway to financial safety and independence. The program has the following components: 

• Healing Services 
• Core Skill Training
• Personalised Career Pathway Development 
• Parallel Placements 

It will cost us an estimated 30,000 INR per participant to run this program. For 50 survivors it will cost us 15,00,000 INR. You can help us make sure that survivors are afforded a life of dignity and safety by donating today. We promise you, every single rupee matters in making this a reality.
